About Us
With project expertise in the UK and abroad across urban and civic regeneration, health and education, cultural tourism and leisure, Plincke aim to develop original, thoroughly researched, and coherent design strategies which humanise external spaces and place multi-user function at the core.
Plincke strive to maximise interaction with nature in green networks with strong planting design to create an authentic landscape journey. A strongly collaborative approach ensures that we understand specific site and environmental context and produce rich design plans that support wider landscape character, local ecology, biodiversity, and social and economic factors. Plincke aim to deliver informed, flexible, and sustainable design infrastructure solutions, that can be enjoyed by everyone.
Who We Are
We combine a track record of delivering award-winning projects across a variety of sectors with an in-depth understanding of environmental planning. Much of our work is for public sector, institutional, and third-sector clients, including charitable trusts. In addition to our core service in landscape design and environmental planning, we have specialist landscape teams working within the education sector and the restoration and renewal of historic landscapes, including urban parks.
What We Do
We operate nationally from studios: Manchester (north region) and London (south region). Our expertise also covers international projects, where we have experience of designing within a wide variety of cultures and climates. Our landscape architecture and environmental planning skills are supported by a framework of consultants in disciplines ranging from arboriculture, ecology, and landscape conservation.
How we work
Our creative approach is balanced with our desire to understand the social, environmental, and economic context that each project is rooted in. This often results in us working closely as part of a wider team, including sustainability advisors and business planners. For over 35-
years we have pioneered a more collaborative way of working that engages with our clients, stakeholders and communities to inform the design process rather than reacting to it.
Why us
Plincke was established in 1988 and became a Limited Company in 1991. The practice is named after the late Richard Plincke, an architect and artist with a lifelong commitment to design excellence and landscape conservation. We are members of the Landscape Institute and Constructionline accredited. We maintain £10m PI cover and in over 35-years of trading have never had a claim made against us.
